‘Significant Other’ Trailer: Maika Monroe Stars In New Creepy Thriller
Paramount+ today released the official trailer and key art for its upcoming original high-concept thriller, Significant Other. The film will hold its World Premiere at the 2022 New York Comic Con, and will exclusively debut on the service on Friday, October 7th.
Presented by Paramount+ in Association with Paramount Pictures’ Players Label,
Significant Other follows a young couple Ruth (Maika Monroe, It Follows) and Harry (Jake Lacy, White Lotus). They take a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone.
The synopsis is mysteriously vague, but the trailer also leads to more questions. Watch it below:
That mysterious puddle of glowing blue goo is reminiscent of Annihilation, Under the Skin, and even Leigh Janiak’s own couples-in-peril-in-the-woods film Honeymoon. Could this be extraterrestrial? We’ll find out soon!
Produced by Paramount Pictures’ Players Label, Dan Berk & Robert Olsen wrote and directed Significant Other. Dan Kagan produced the film while Dan Berk, Robert Olsen, Maika Monroe, and Kevin Sullivan executive produced.
“Significant Other New York Comic Con World Premiere Screening & Panel” will
take place on Thursday, October 6th from 6:30PM to 8:30PM in Room 401 at the Javitz
Convention Center. The cast and filmmakers will speak about the making of the new thriller following the screening.
