Avalanche Sharks, Dracano, Forever 16, and Sinkhole Prepare to Take You on an Odyssey

Distribution company Odyssey Media looks to be getting in on the b-movie market in a big way with four Syfy-ish flicks that showcase snow sharks, volcanic dragons, crimefighting teen vampires, and Battle Royale at the bottom of a sinkhole.
AVALANCHE SHARKS – After an horrific avalanche, the staff members at Twin Pines Ski Resort start to receive reports of missing people and creatures that move beneath the snow. As the body count piles up, the management tries to cover up the situation, which leads to disaster on their busiest day of the year: Bikini Snow Day.
This sequel to last year’s Sand Sharks was also supposed to star Brooke Hogan, but she had to back out due to a scheduling conflict. Instead Kate Nauta, Erika Jordan, and Emily Addison will have to serve as attractive snow shark bait in this frozen nature gone amok flick from Scott Wheeler, director of The Asylum’s Transmorphers: The Fall of Man and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Wheeler is keeping busy as the director of the next flick on the agenda, a rather timely disaster flick with a tween survival-of-the-fittest twist.
SINKHOLE – A disaster flick with shades of “Lord of the Flies” about a school bus carrying a high school track team that gets trapped deep inside a mysterious sinkhole.
Eric Roberts and Jeremy London get top billing; either they’re playing faculty and bus driver or else this high school has the oldest students on record. Dominka Juliet (Dragon Wasps) and Final Destination 3’s Gina Holden are amongst the actual students fighting to be king of the hole.
For those out there going through Twilight withdrawal, the next Odyssey release might placate your lust for tween blood-sucking melodrama.
FOREVER 16 – Sixteen-year-old Raven Highgate is not your average teenager; she is a vampire, and this is her umpteenth time attending a new high school to keep her identity hidden. But when a local cop reveals she knows Raven’s secret and offers to introduce Raven to others of her kind in exchange for help catching a murderer loose in the school, Raven has no choice but to accept… but at what cost?
George Mendeluk (The Terrror Experiment) directs Tiera Skovbye, Tyler Johnston, Siobhan Williams, and Andrea Roth (The Collector, “Rescue Me”) in this young vampire saga.
Finally, a creature feature/disaster hybrid with the gimmicky title Dracano about dragons that emerge from erupting volcanoes and only Corin Nemec can save us. Better believe this is a future Syfy premiere.
DRACANO – A catastrophic volcanic eruption releases ancient dragon-like creatures on the surrounding areas. Scientists believe that this could start a chain reaction of volcanic eruptions giving way to a global Dragon Apocalypse, which of course happens.
Of course it happens. Kevin O’Neil (Dinocroc, Attack of the 50-Foot Cheerleader) directs Mr. Syfy Corin Nemec , Victoria Pratt (“Mutant X”, “Cleopatra 2525”), and, once again, Gina Holden.
Look for Avalanche Sharks, Dracano, Sinkhole, and Forever 16 to begin rolling out – probably premiering on Syfy – in the months to come.
