Under the Dome Casting Almost Done as Mike Vogel Signs on for a Lead Role

Finally one of the lead roles in “Under the Dome,” that of Dale “Barbie” Barbara, an Army veteran who is in town on a mysterious mission, has been filled. Read on for the details.
Per Deadline, Mike Vogel (Cloverfield, Open Graves, “Bates Motel”) has signed on for one of the final castings on the miniseries set in Chester’s Mill, a small New England town that becomes sealed off from the rest of the world by a huge dome. He joins Jolene Purdy (“Glee”, Donnie Darko), Nicholas Strong, Britt Robertson (“The Secret Circle”), Aisha Hinds (“True Blood”), Natalie Martinez (“CSI: NY,” Death Race 2008), Colin Ford (“Supernatural”), and Alex Koch.

Synopsis:
“UNDER THE DOME” is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.
“UNDER THE DOME” is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) directed the first episode.
