Exclusive Clip: In ‘Blood Conscious,’ It’s Siblings Against a Mass Shooter

Timothy Covell’s latest film Blood Conscious is a horrifying tale about contemporary struggles with racial and social tensions. The film follows a Black family who is vacationing at their parents’ lakeside home. But, the trip is ruined when they are confronted by a vicious killer (Nick Damici) who claims that they are all possessed.
This exclusive clip from Dark Sky Pictures shows siblings Kevin (Oghenero Gbaje) and Brittney (DeShawn White), and her fiancé Tony (Lenny Thomas), fighting back against the murderer after he’s killed their parents.

The Day-After-A-Slasher-Film Film
Speaking about Blood Conscious, Covell told Dread Central this is a film that takes place the day after a slasher film. “But instead of opening on the lone survivor of a campground massacre, we focus on the family who finds him,” he says. “[This] set[s] in motion a chain of paranoia that leads to even more bloodshed over the course of the ensuing night.”
Covell also spoke about incorporating race into the film. He said, “Although it would be inaccurate to say Blood Conscious is about race, racism is very much present throughout the film.”
Blood Conscious is now available on all major VOD and streaming platforms, courtesy of Dark Sky Films.
