Statement from Ditched Producer Mark Sommer:
We are very excited to bring Ditched to Florida for its World Premiere as the in-theater experience is what most filmmakers make films for: to be enjoyed in person with a crowd of people!

Ditched is an 80’s inspired horror-thriller that was shot in Edmonton, Canada that features a pumping synth soundtrack with guitar elements created by musician Clayton Worbeck (Revco/Ministry). Writer/Director Christopher Donaldson developed the story as a “What would you do if you were basically in the middle of nowhere, injured, and you’re being hunted by “something” in the night? A very basic fear that formed the bones of the story, which then goes in a direction you’re not going to see coming.”

Ditched stars the multi-talented Marika Sila an indigenous actress who also specializes in stunts and special skills including hoop dancing, fire spinning, sword, and staff handling. She came to our attention in the breakout role of Sergeant Yuka Mongoyak in Jordan Peele’s ‘The Twilight Zone’ remake. Mackenzie Gray also stars and is one of Vancouver’s most venerable actors who is most notable to horror fans for his turns in Rabid (2019) as the eccentric ‘Gunter” for the Soska Sisters and gungho reporter ‘Houston Gray’ in Grave Encounters (2011) for Colin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz.

Christopher and I may be first-time filmmakers but we both have a long career in both film/tv and music. Christopher comes from a background of screenwriting, storyboarding, and directing commercials and is currently one of Canada’s most in-demand storyboard artists. I come from a music background as a former artist manager specializing in industrial rock and punk working with such industry stalwarts as SNFU and Tim Skold (Shotgun Messiah/Marilyn Manson).
