Trailer: DREAD Now Unveils HOWLING VILLAGE from the Creator Of THE GRUDGE!

DREAD is proud to announce the release of Howling Village! The latest Dread release comes from writer and director Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge and The Grudge 2).

Howling Village tells the story of a young psychologist visiting a haunted town to investigate her brother’s disappearance and uncover her family’s dark history.

Synopsis:

After her brother goes missing, Kanade, a young psychologist visits his last known location, an infamous haunted and cursed site known as ‘Howling Village’ to investigate his disappearance.Her investigation reveals that the village’s mysteries are connected to her family and works to uncover her family’s dark history.

This is what Takashi Shimizu has to say about his partnership with Dread:

I’m thrilled that Howling Village will now be reaching audiences in the United States and Canada … I know that there is a passionate community of genre lovers eagerly awaiting the release. I am extremely excited to partner with Dread and levelFILM.

In addition, Shimizu is one of the most influential directors in horror cinema. After his debut Ju-On: The Curse he has gone on to achieve international success. Subsequently, the director would go on to create a follow-up to his iconic first film before turning the concept into two highly successful American reboots of the property. 

Most importantly, Howling Village will premiere in select theatres on August 13th, On Demand beginning August 17th, and on Blu-ray on September 14th.
