Mia Challis is the Newest Cast Member of EVIL DEAD RISE

The film is chugging along–and the cast keeps expanding! Late today, we got word that Mia Challis (Clickbait) is the latest actor to join the cast of Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise, currently filming in New Zealand. Deadline broke the news, which included a character description:
Challis will play Jessica, an 18-year-old girl, who is obsessed with fashion and Instagram. Jessica loves to be the center of attention, although she is smarter than she lets on…

Challis will join previously announced cast members Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Lily Sullivan, and Alyssa Sutherland.
Deadline’s report also came with something akin to a film synopsis:
In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth (Lily Sullivan) pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A. apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.
From Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, and Ghost House Pictures, Evil Dead Rise will hit HBO Max sometime in 2022. The original Evil Dead “Dream Team” of Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert are all executive producers, although Campbell will not be appearing on screen. Sorry, no “Ash” this time.
