John Lithgow Returning as “The Trinity Killer” in Showtime’s DEXTER Revival

John Lithgow will be reprising the role of “The Trinity Killer” in Showtime’s upcoming Dexter revival, it was announced today. Though the character was offed at the end of Season 4, it’s not uncommon for the dead to remain active in Dexter, where they often manifest in the mind of the show’s titular killer of serial killers, played by Michael C. Hall.

Synopsis:
10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival sees the character now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami.

Deadline got the exclusive, revealing the Lithgow will likely only be on the Dexter set for a single day of filming.

Lithgow won an Emmy for his portrayal of “The Trinity Killer” (aka Arthur Mitchell), a character who entered the series as a mentor and became one of Dexter Morgan’s most hated adversaries.

Julia Jones (The Mandalorian) leads the new cast with Alano Miller (Sylvie’s Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), and Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird). Also Clancy Brown (Pet Sematary TwoShawshank Redemption) plays the villain, Kurt Caldwell

Marcos Siega will helm six of the revival’s ten episodes. He will also executive produce with Hall. John Goldwyn will too with Sara Colleton, Bill Carraro, and also Scott Reynolds. Clyde Phillips, the showrunner on the first four seasons, returns as well.
