Promotional videos announcing The Metallica Blacklist as well as the 30th anniversary reissue of The Black Album, Metallica’s self-titled masterpiece, dropped recently and we can’t pre-order fast enough. Fans, mark your calendars for the September 10th release!
Originally released in 1991 Metallica’s 5th studio album forever known to fans as The Black Album contains some of the bands most beloved work.
With artists and musicians all over the world having named this album as a defining influence in their lives what better way to celebrate than with a massive collection of tributes and covers?
Featuring 50+ artists each bringing their own sound to the songs that inspired so many, The Metallica Blacklist promises to be a diverse and nostalgic celebration spanning nearly every subgenre of music.

The Metallica Blacklist as well as the newly remastered Black Album are currently available for pre-order. Furthermore, all proceeds from The Metallica Blacklist will go to charities of the participating musicians and artists choice via Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation.
Both releases will be available September 10th on CD, vinyl, cassette. and as digital download with a Deluxe Box Set that just has to be in any fans collection.
Fans looking to get in on the anniversary releases can expect to drop anywhere between $9 for a digital copy up to $240 for the boxset.

The original release has been remastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering, and the box set includes supplemental materials and recordings remastered by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering.
The 1st of seven limited edition posters was also teased out on the band’s Twitter feed featuring @WolfSkullJack‘s “Enter Sandman”
The print will be on sale Thursday, June 24 at 1PM PDT/9PM BST in the Metallica Store & @probitymerch!
