Someone has Seen THE MATRIX 4 and Has Thoughts

Coming at you from the annals of the “please, we need to know something about The Matrix 4” section. Today we present to you one Twitter user’s opinion of a recent screening of the much-anticipated Matrix 4. This user, David Manning on Twitter, is a well-known test screening viewer. With that being said, his statements are unverifiable. I doubt Lana Wachowski is gonna bop in and let us know that the film did screen.

“WOM”, for the curious, means “word of mouth”. I myself slowly lost interest in the Matrix series past the first installment. While the filmmaking remained as competent as ever, the story went in the direction of a sci-fi opera and lost me at some point. Even so, I’d love a revisit to the old stomping grounds of Neo and Trinity. Hopefully that’s what Wachowski will deliver. It’s heartening to see that Manning has referred to it as “ambitious to a fault”. I like a big attempt even if it may fall flat for some.

The Matrix 4 will release December 22nd, 2021 in theaters and on HBO Max. Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Lambert Wilson are confirmed as returning to their roles from the first films. The story is a complete mystery insofar as we don’t have a solid synopsis. Reeves, awesome person that he is, has given us this: We have a wonderful director, Lana Wachowski, and she has written a beautiful script that is a love story. It’s inspiring“.
