The truth is out there…
As a filmmaker of fantasy, horror, and sci-fi, J.J. Abrams already lives in a world of fictional aliens. In a new 4-part docuseries coming to Showtime, however, Abrams will explore the truth behind the very real UFO phenomenon. Deadline got the scoop on the series, which is (fittingly) called UFO.

Synopsis:
The series will look at what clandestine influence the American government, lucrative private companies and the military may have in shielding the truth behind extraterrestrial phenomena to further their own agendas.
Interest in UFOs has skyrocketed in recent years due to an increase in government investigations. We recently reported that the director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense will be presenting a report to US Congress about UFOs sometime in June. Read more about that below.
