Rob Zombie Asks Fans to Weigh In on Which Secondary Characters They Want to See in THE MUNSTERS

In May, rumors swirled that Rob Zombie would be rebooting The Munsters as a new feature film. The news was confirmed on June 7th. Now, Munsters Fever is raging!

This weekend, Zombie took to Instagram in order to ask his fans to weigh in on which side characters they’d like to see in The Munsters! Check out his post below.
“You can only pick one! Which of these characters would you like to see in The Munsters movie? Zombo, Mr. Gateman, Cousin Lester, Dr. Dudley, [or] Uncle Gilbert?”
Rob Zombie
Zombo, played by Louis Nye in The Munsters TV series, is Eddie Munster’s favorite television personality.
Mr. Gateman is a mortician and partner of Gateman, Goodbury, and Graves Funeral Home where Herman Munster works. He’s played by famed character actor John Carradine in The Munsters television series.
Lester Dracula is a seemingly entrepreneurial wolfman with a history of bad investments. He is the son of Count Dracula and the younger brother of Lily Munster. He was played by actor Irwin Charone in The Munsters television series.
Dr. Dudley is the family doctor of The Munster family. He was portrayed by both Paul Lynde and Dom DeLuise in The Munsters television series.
Uncle Gilbert is the Gill-man from The Creature From The Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature, and The Creature Walks Among Us. According to Herman, he used to be a politician and his wealth is mostly attributed to salvaging lost treasures in the seas. He’s played by Richard Hale in The Munsters television series.

As we previously announced, Murphy’s Multiverse reported that production was set to kick off in Budapest in early May. It’s unclear if the film is still shooting (though Zombie’s Instagram post seems to suggest it is).
Sheri Moon Zombie has reportedly been cast as Lily Munster, while Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Lords of Salem, 3 from Hell) will play Herman. Daniel Roebuck and Richard Brake have also been cast in undisclosed roles along with Jorge Garcia (Lost) and Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark).
The original Munsters featured Fred Gwynne as Herman, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily, Al Lewis as Grandpa, Butch Patrick as Eddie, and Pat Priest and Beverly Owen as Marilyn. Mel Blanc and Bob Hastings voiced The Raven. NBC tried to revive it back in 2012 with Bryan Fuller’s Mockingbird Lane with Jerry O’Connell and Portia de Rossi. But it never happened. We’ll let you know if we hear more on Zombie’s Munsters.
