New “The Pride of Chucky” CHILD’S PLAY Marathon This Week

If you somehow didn’t know, June is Pride Month. And to celebrate, SYFY will air “The Pride of Chucky” Marathon on Wednesday, June 9th. It will include all the original Child’s Play flick – other than the original, which is owned by MGM. Weak.

Creator Don Mancini says he’s embraced a specific gay identity for the franchise.
He tells SyFyWire: “We’ve sort of embraced, over the years, a kind of specific gay identity for the franchise. I think it’s just being attentive to what is going on in the culture and what is going in the zeitgeist at any given time, and then using Chucky to get at those issues in an interesting, fun way.”
The upcoming television series begins after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
SYFY will air “The Pride of Chucky” Marathon on Wednesday, June 9th.
