She also starred as the bum (you know which one) in writer-director David Lynch’s masterpiece of beautiful horror, Mulholland Drive. Other genre movies include Dahmer vs. Gacy, Drag Me to Hell I Know Who Killed Me, and Hell Ride.

Her more mainstream credits include Exit to Eden, Dear God, Shallow Hal, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Valentine’s Day, The Fighter, and Silver Linings Playbook.

She also starred as – checks notes – Baroness Joy von Troken in The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Her most recent role was as the mysterious The Master in director Travis Stevens’ Jakob’s Wife with Barbara Crampton.

The Nun follows a Roman Catholic priest (Demián Bichir) and a nun (Taissa Farmiga) in her novitiate as they uncover an unholy secret in 1952 Romania. Corin Hardy (The Hallow) directed the film from a screenplay written by Gary Dauberman (Annabelle, IT) from a story by Dauberman and James Wan.

Rated R for terror, disturbing/bloody images, and violence, the film sports a 24% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus: The Nun boasts strong performances, spooky atmospherics, and a couple decent set-pieces, but its sins include inconsistent logic and narrative slackness.
