He’s been in more movies than we could possibly list including a ton of horror titles. I’m talking about Danny Trejo who was born on this day in 1944!

His life is too complicated and interesting to sum up in a couple of paragraphs. This is proven by the fact that the convict turned actor is the subject of the documentary Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo! Check out the trailer and synopsis for that film below.

He is one of the most prolific actors in America. He usually does at least 4 films a year since the 1990s. In 2002 alone, he did 9 films. (Source)
His characters in the films of Robert Rodriguez are usually named after knives: Desperado (1995) (Navajas), the From Dusk Till Dawn trilogy (Razor Charlie), the Spy Kids movies (Machete), the Grindhouse (2007) trailer (Machete), Predators (2010) (Cuchillo), Machete (2010) (Machete again). Only in Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) (Cucuy) is this not the case.
