The American Film Market (AFM) kicked off today, and if you’ve been reading this site for a while, you know a LOT of info comes out of it. We’ll be bringing you the horror highlights, starting with sales art for three films we’ve mentioned previously: Kill Your Friends, Jessabelle, and Backmask.

Kill Your Friends: Rafe Spall, seen this year in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, stars in Owen Harris’ Britpop satire about an A&R man who, desperately searching for the next big hit, takes the concept of killer tunes to a murderous new level. Gregor Cameron produces with Altitude Films. The film is based on a novel by John Niven and is expected to shoot in early 2013.

Jessabelle: The latest film from director Kevin Greutert (Saw VI and Saw 3D) , Jessabelle stars Ana de la Reguera, Amber Stevens, Sarah Snook, Joelle Carter, and Mark Webber and centers on Jessie (Snook), who returns to her father’s Louisiana home after an accident robs her of the use of her legs. Once there, she must confront an enraged ghost. Carter plays Sarah, the mother of Snook’s Jessie, while Webber plays Preston, an old high school boyfriend of Snook’s character who helps her uncover a mystery about her family.
