While most of the rest of the world returns to “normal” after Halloween, horror fans in the UK can keep the festivities going as Grimm Up North screens Excision/Suspiria in Manchester on November 1st, followed by The Shining/Room 237 on the 6th in Stockport.
On November 1st the proceedings kick off at The Dancehouse at 7.30 pm with the eagerly awaited first feature from Richard Bates. Destined for cult status, Grimm is premiering Excision before its UK release and teaming it with an all-time classic, Dario Argento’s infamous Suspiria. They’ll also have some exclusive trailers, raffle prizes, and a few surprises. Fancy dress is optional. Beer from £1.50 a bottle. Bar open till late. Click here for more details and to buy tickets. Just five days later the ultimate horror double-bill comes your way at the Plaza Super Cinema in Stockport as Grimm partners with the BFI and Metrodome Films to bring you the remastered and extended cut of Kubrick’s classic alongside the new documentary that delves deep into the weird and wonderful conspiracy theories that surround Kubrick’s movie.
If you attended Grimmfest’s preview night at the Plaza earlier this month, you know what an absolute perfect fit this venue is for this movie. People kept saying the fully restored art deco venue was like something out of The Shining so join the party and see how well they fit! The screening begins at 7.00 pm. Book tickets via the Plaza Super Cinema website or at the door. There’s a full bar with drinks allowed in the auditorium, and they’ll also be holding a raffle with prizes galore to win.
