On tap for you ghouls now is the first poster from Jourdan (Rogue River) McClure’s film Children of Sorrow. In the film a woman embeds herself in a cult looking for answers to her sister’s disappearance, only to find a dark secret within the cult and an even darker secret within herself.
The film just took BEST FEATURE at the SACRAMENTO HORROR FILM FESTIVAL along with BEST ACTING IN A FEATURE. Children of Sorrow will have its L.A Premiere November 17th.
Children of Sorrow was written by Ryan Finnerty and stars Bill Oberst, Jr., as self-help guru Simon Leach; Hannah Levien; and Whitney Nielsen.
McClure says of Children of Sorrow, “[It] is unlike anything I thought I would do. It’s really my attempt at a POV mocku-horror film with roots in the slice of life genre. The story is told through the lenses of diegetic devices. This is not found footage, but this style utilizes elements of the FF aesthetic along with the documentary presentation to make something unnerving and interesting.”
To save you from looking up “diegetic,” we visited dictionary.com; it refers to “diegesis: the telling of a story by a narrator who summarizes events in the plot and comments on the conversations, thoughts, etc., of the characters.”
Stay tuned for more; we’ll be keeping close tabs on this one!
