New Alex Garland Movie MEN with Jessie Buckley Begins Filming

Ex Machina, Annihilation writer-director Alex Garland and A24 are reteaming for a new science-fiction movie Men with Jessie Buckley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things). And today, cinematographer Rob Hardy shared the first set-photo on Instagram.

Plot details are under wraps, but sources say the film is in the vein of Alex Garland’s previous sci-fi films. So I guess it makes sense that Garland also penned the script.
Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network) will produce.
Could this be the “low-budget horror movie, set in the UK” we heard about? Maybe. To refresh, Alex Garland came up with a new film while working on a TV series.
He said: “I wrote a low-budget horror movie, set in the UK. I don’t know if it’s unrealistic or not. Always at this particular moment, a film always feels unrealistic, but then somehow it works out. At some point with civil disobedience, you have to start smashing stuff up. So I was writing about the need to smash stuff up. I thought, ‘So now what I’m writing is pointless.’ In a good way. I almost felt glad.”
