New THE BOYS Spin-Off Snags Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Star

Amazon’s hit adaptation of Garth Ennis’ The Boys is getting a college-set spinoff. And today, we hear it’s snagged Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Lizze Broadway as leads. Sinclair will play Marie and Broadway plays Emma.
The spin-off which is nearing a formal series greenlight.
Showrunner Eric Kripke teased what we can expect from the spin-off last year.
He told THR: “First, it didn’t come from Amazon telling us, ‘Hey, you’re a hit, you must do a lot more of the same.’ It came from me, [The Boys executive producers] Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Craig Rosenberg just talking. We stumbled on to this corner of the universe that we really loved and we took it to them.”

Kripke continued: “It’s a Vought-owned college where young kids with powers are trained as to how to be proper superheroes, all leading to an NBA-style draft at the end of the year. [The series is] sort of like a college sports show meets Fame, because they also have to go to acting classes and marketing classes. It’s going to be a very character-driven, hopefully incredibly realistic, college show.”
Sounds like fun to me!
The Boys season 3 began filming earlier this year with Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as the Captain America parody Soldier Boy. In the meantime, remember, the first two seasons are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
