New FAST & FURIOUS Opens Same Day as VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE – Good Luck!

Well, it looks like Universal has shuffled the release of the new Fast & Furious movie to June 25th. Not a big deal, right? Yeah, except it’s now in direct competition with Andy Serkis’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Good luck!

Producer Matt Tolmach this sequel may get an R-rating due to the success of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. Fingers crossed. We’ll let you know when we hear more.

Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock / Venom with Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady / Carnage. Michelle Williams joins them as Eddie’s ex-fiancée with Reid Scott as Anne’s boyfriend, Naomie Harris as Shriek, and Stephen Graham.

Serkis directs from a screenplay written by Kelly Marcel based on the character created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker produce. Columbia unleashes it on June 25, 2021.

The original film followed journalist Eddie Brock trying to take down Carlton Drake, the notorious and brilliant founder of the Life Foundation. While investigating one of Drake’s experiments, Eddie merges with the alien Venom, leaving him with superhuman strength and power. Twisted, dark, and fueled by rage, Venom tries to control the new and dangerous abilities that Eddie finds so intoxicating.

It sports a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Venom’s first standalone movie turns out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways – chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man
