Horror History: Happy Birthday to the Delightful DREW BARRYMORE!
On this day in horror history, Drew Barrymore was born in Culver City, California in 1975. Barrymore infamously played the doomed Casey Becker in Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s meta-slasher classic Scream. And also killed it for three seasons of Netflix’s zombie-comedy Santa Clarita Diet. Barrymore’s other genre contributions include Waxwork II: Lost in Time, Doppelganger, Altered States, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Firestarter, Cat’s Eye, Batman Forever, and also Donnie Darko.

Other classic roles include Poison Ivy, Ever After, Riding in Cars with Boys, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Charlie’s Angels, 50 First Dates, He’s Just Not That Into You, Going the Distance, Blended, and also The Wedding Singer.
On top of serving as executive producer on projects such as Donnie Darko, Santa Clarita Diet, and Charlie’s Angels, Barrymore also directed the roller derby comedy Whip It with Elliot Page (Juno). Currently, she’s hosting her own talk show on CBS fittingly called The Drew Barrymore Show. Recently she reprised her role as Casey from Scream. The sketch was a “Where Are They Now?” and asked the question: what Casey would be doing if she had survived Ghostface? Watch it HERE.
