Danny Elfman Will Score Sam Raimi’s DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Legendary Danny Elfman (Edward Scissorhands) will compose the score for Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange 2 aka Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Michael Giacchino composed the score for the first film.

This makes sense as Elfman and Raimi are frequent collaborators. They’ve worked together on Darkman then Spider-Man 1 & 2, and Oz the Great and Powerful.

The last we heard on the sequel, Xochitl Gomez (Baby-Sitters Club) joined Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the film.

Sinister director Scott Derrickson left the production over creative differences. Raimi then took over. Derickson remains as an executive producer. The film’s set to start shooting once Cumberbatch finishes playing Strange in Spider-Man 3.

The original film told the tale of Dr. Stephen Strange’s whose life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. There he quickly learns it’s at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange must choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness was originally going to hit on May 7th, 2021. But will now (hopefully) land in theaters on March 25th, 2022.
