STRANGER THINGS Star Finn Wolfhard Calls New Season The Darkest Ever

The fourth season of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things is now filming. And today, star Finn Wolfhard teases the new season will be the “darkest” yet.
Wolfhard tells CBC Listen: “Every season it gets darker. I will say [with] season three I was like, ‘This is the darkest season that there’ll ever be’ – exploding rats and everything. But really, season four so far… it’s the darkest season that’s ever been. Every year it gets amped-up; every year it gets funnier, darker, and sadder – and everything. So I’m really excited for people to see it. We’re still filming it. ‘Cause of COVID we had to put it on hold, but now they’re back filming right now.”

Co-star Gaten Matarazzo recently teased the new season is the scariest yet He said: “Yikes. I think most would probably say it’s the scariest [season] out of the previous three, which I love because it’s very fun to film.”
David Harbour also says it’s his favorite, adding: “This season is my favorite. He really is going to show you some new colors and what he’s really made up of. And one of the great things that you can see with Hopper is that he was a protector, he’s a man of justice [and] he now has become a prisoner. He’s trapped and he’s isolated. And we get to see an entirely other color of him that has been hinted at… You really do get to see a lot of his backstory. Who he was as a warrior in a sense. And sort of the mistakes he made in the past come back to visit him.“
Stranger Things 4 is now filming. The series has added eight new cast members including Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and more.

The Duffer Brothers created Stranger Things, inspired by the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, and also Stephen King. Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, the first season focused on the disappearance of a young boy and also the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic abilities.
