CLUE Animated Series Now In Works At Fox

Hasbro’s killer mystery board game Clue is also getting an animated series. One that we hear will encapsulate “the thrilling and suspenseful dynamics that have made Clue a global sensation for more than seven decades.”

Fox Entertainment and eOne are co-producing the new show. Bento Box Entertainment will also serve as the animation studio.

Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment of Fox said: “Colonel Mustard…In the Conservatory…With the lead pipe.’ By just hearing these colorful phrases alone, you immediately know what they mean. Leaving no mystery as to why Clue is one of the most beloved board games-turned-IP of all time. We couldn’t be more excited to develop it as an animated series along with eOne and Bento Box.”

Pancho Mansfield, eOne’s President of Global Scripted Programming added: “We’re thrilled to team up once again with our great partners at Fox and also work with Bento Box on this exciting new series. Clue is an iconic whodunit property that exudes mystery and intrigue and has fans all over the world. We can’t wait to share our reimagined animated version with audiences.”

The 1985 movie version begins at a dinner party hosted by Mr. Boddy, where he admits to blackmailing his visitors. These guests, who have been given aliases, are Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), and Col. Mustard (Martin Mull). When Boddy turns up murdered, all are suspects, and together they also try to figure out who is the killer.
