Taxidermist Recreates BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA–With a Rat!

Though released back in 1992, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, remains relevant. Like any film that stands the test of time, it’s been the subject of much analysis, numerous retrospectives, and countless homages. We recently ran a defense of Keanu Reeves’s portrayal of Jonathan Harker, for example.

Synopsis:
Count Dracula, a 15th-century prince, is condemned to live off the blood of the living for eternity. Young lawyer Jonathan Harker is sent to Dracula’s castle to finalize a land deal, but when the Count sees a photo of Harker’s fiancée, Mina, the spitting image of his dead wife, he imprisons him and sets off for London to track her down.

Alexandra Rose Taxidermy, however, has created an homage to Bram Stoker’s Dracula that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. It’s a recreation of Gary Oldman’s Vlad/Count Dracula made from a rat. Yes, you read that correctly! Take a look at Rose’s masterpiece below!

“I used dupion silk for his robe and cotton satin for his shirt,” Rose tells her followers, “both embroidered with metallic gold thread for the ultimate in rat garment quality.

“His tiny wig was the most challenging part to construct but after a lot of fiddling (and copious amounts of hairspray) I finally created a form I was happy with!”
