Jared Leto & Darren Aronofsky Reteam for New Blumhouse Thriller
Requiem for a Dream is one of our favorite films. And today we hear that the dream team behind that flick – director Darren Aronofsky and star Jared Leto – will reunite for the new Blumhouse fright flick dubbed Adrift.
Based on a story by Koji Suzuki (Ringu), it’s set in the dead calm of the open sea, where a fishing boat discovers an abandoned yacht with a strange distress call. A deckhand agrees to take lone control of it while it’s towed into port. But he soon discovers why the rest of his more experienced crew members call it a ‘Ghost Ship.’

Aronofsky (Black Swan, mother!) and Luke Dawson will pen the script. Blumhouse head honcho Jason Blum will serve as the film’s producer.
The film sports a 79% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Though the movie may be too intense for some to stomach, the wonderful performances and the bleak imagery are hard to forget.
