Guillermo Del Toro Wants To See GODZILLA VS. KONG / PACIFIC RIM Crossover Now

The trailer for Godzilla Vs. Kong hit the other day. And now, director Guillermo del Toro says he wants to see the MonsterVerse cross over with Pacific Rim.

He tweets: “I personally love seeing the Neon, Sea battles, building demolition, etc because secretly -maybe- the PAC RIM Universe co-exists in the LEGENDARY Kaijuverse and, perhaps, one day they can rumble!

He adds: “Talking only as a fan BTW – NO plans to return.”

Check out his posts below.

Pacific Rim: Uprising director Steven S. DeKnight has previously teased a crossover movie is a definite possibility, saying: “There’s been a lot of discussion about that possibility [of crossing over]. Look I think it would be fantastic to have the Pacific Rim universe join Legendary’s Monster Universe, it seems like a natural step. And part of the big overall plan after the third movie we’ve talked about is that could happen, it’s always a possibility. It’s by far not a certainty; it’s merely theoretical at this point, but as a fan myself I would love to see that happen.”

The last time we visited the Pacific Rim universe was in Pacific Rim Uprising. It centered on John Boyega (Star Wars) as the rebellious Jaeger pilot who has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an unstoppable threat brings the world to its knees, he’s jumps back into action. He’s joined by a gifted rival pilot and a 15-year-old hacker (Cailee Spaeny).

Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) returns with Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman (The Dark Knight Rises), Tian Jing (Kong: Skull Island), and Adria Arjona.
