RIP Gary Klar: DAY OF THE DEAD Actor Has Passed Away at 73

We’re sad to report that Gary Klar, the actor who played Private Steele in Day of the Dead, has passed away at the age of 73.

The George A. Romero Foundation released a statement this morning that reads:

It is with great sadness that we here at The GARF mark the passing of Gary Klahr. Gary needs no introduction to Romero fans, having so iconically played Private Steele in Day of the Dead, bringing his unique acting abilities to the role, making George A. Romero’s dialogue so quotable.

All of us here at Dread Central send our sincerest condolences to Klar’s fans, friends, and family. He will truly be missed.
