Original WISHMASTER Script Gets New Novelization Next Month!
Do you dig movie novelizations? Well, if you do then today you’re in luck. We hear Encyclopocalypse Publications will unleash an all-new novelization. This time it’s producer Wes Craven and director Robert Kurtzman’s 90s cult classic Wishmaster. Based on the original script, the book hits on January 31, 2021.
Per the official site: Written by the creator of Hellraiser 2, 3 & 4, Peter Atkins, and directed by one-third of the legendary KNB Effects Group, Robert Kurtzman – Wishmaster was an instant genre hit upon release and went on to spawn three sequels, action figures, and even a stage musical. The film showcased its tale with an abundance of imagination and excitement. It established itself as a classic worthy of its creator’s lineage – yet unlike many of its contemporaries, it never received a novelization. 23 years after its initial release, Encyclopocalypse Publications step into the fray to right this wrong. We have partnered with Peter Atkins to bring an original novelization to life. The book, written by Christian Francis, is based on Atkins’ original screenplay. It will be released as a paperback and for Kindle via Amazon on January 31st. With an audiobook later in the year.
The original film followed Tammy Lauren who unwittingly frees an evil genie (Andrew Divoff). He then plays deadly tricks on her friends and acquaintances.
The film sports a 27% over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Wishmaster searches for horror in the exploits of a supernatural being. One whose powers, alas, evidently do not include the ability to summon a compelling script.
The Wishmaster novelization original script hits on January 31, 2021.
