Congratulations to Dread Co-Founder Steve Barton on His New Positions at The George A. Romero Foundation!

We wanted to take a moment to congratulate Dread Central co-founder Steve “Uncle Creepy” Barton on his new position at the George A. Romero Foundation!

Steve and Dread parted ways a couple of years back, but that doesn’t mean we don’t miss the hell out of him. That’s why we were so thrilled to hear about his new gig at such an important institution–one very close to all of our hearts.

The Goerge A. Romero Foundation (GARF) “is dedicated to honoring the life work and cultural influence of George A. Romero, and supporting a new generation of filmmakers and artists inspired by his legacy.”

Steve is GARF’s new Guest Relations Manager! Their website explains:

Steve Barton, also known as “Uncle Creepy” has built an illustrious career in the horror industry. He is a WGA writer, live event host, television and radio personality, tastemaker and critic, and award-winning film producer and editor-in-chief. Steve is perhaps best known for forming one of the industry’s largest and most well-respected media outlets, DreadCentral. Steve has crafted dozens of DVD commentary tracks including one for Survival of the Dead with George. He has also appeared on numerous home video special features, and he has acted in several feature films, including Survival of the Dead. Steve is honored to be joining the GARF as he cites George as one of his primary influences and a career-driver. He brings an abundance of experience, and he hopes to contribute high-quality guests for The GARF’s programming. Having extensive knowledge in web design and function, Steve also plans to assist in the development of content for The GARF’s site and social presence.
