Trailer: Face the Beast When Brutal Survival Short FEAR OF THE WOODS Premieres Tomorrow 12/19

We first showed you guys the trailer for the survival horror Fear of the Woods last summer, back when we weren’t sure how long this COVID-19 thing was going to last.

Written and directed by Titus Paar, it’s described as a mix of Jaws, Stranger Things, and the 80s anime Silver Fang. Fear of the Woods was shooting in Sweden with support from Film i Öst and produced by Paar Productions and Hammarström Agency.

And then, everything shut down.

Synopsis:
Alaska 1993. A snowstorm has trapped the small mountain town. Now it’s up to a group of rebellious teenagers to save their town that don’t believe in monsters.

Fear of the Woods stars Vernon Wells, Ralf Beck, and Christian Arnold.

“[Making this film] been a dream of mine since I was 6-years-old and saw the anime Silver Fang for the first time,” Paar tells us exclusively, “and has since that moment been trying to bring a bear like that alive in a snow setting!.”

“Our plan was to make this into a feature film with a worldwide release,” the filmmaker continues, “but we only had time to make the first 20 min before Covid came and shut us down. So we decided to make a kick-ass short out of this and release it as a first chapter for free for all the fans around the world.”

To that end, the first chapter of Fear of the Woods will premiere as a short film tomorrow, Saturday, December 29th, (3 PM PST) on YouTube, HERE.

Hopefully, Fear the Woods will continue its journey towards becoming a full feature film in 2021.

By the way, the bear is completely animatronic with no CGI! Read more about this incredible beast, HERE.
