This time around, Gomez and Morticia are celebrating the arrival of a baby boy. But Wednesday and Pugsley are none too happy about the new addition, and try their best to eliminate the infant. When a nanny appears to keep the kids in line, her presence leads to an unexpected treacherous twist.

According to Huston, it was clear during the filming that Julia’s health was failing. He had trouble eating and was losing weight. Julia had stomach cancer for three years at that point. And on October 20th he suffered a stroke and was put on life support. Four days later, on October 24, 1994, he died at the age of 54.

Addams Family Values snagged the #1 opening weekend with $14.1M. Its final take was $48.9M. A decline from the original film’s domestic total of $113.5M. It was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Art Direction (Ken Adam, Marvin March). But lost to Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List.

The film sports a 77% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus that reads: New, well-developed characters add dimension to this batty satire, creating a comedy much more substantial than the original.
