Our friends over at TVLine scored the first look at “The Munsters” redux “Mockingbird Lane” at this year’s Comic-Con, and well, it doesn’t look very Munstery. Except, oddly enough, for Marilyn. See for yourself, and read on for a recap of the Bryan Fuller panel.

A sizzle reel of footage from the “Mockingbird Lane” pilot, which finished shooting three days before the panel, revealed that the series has the auteur’s stamp all over it. Darkly humorous and visually distinctive, the sneak peek featured a scene of a wolfed-out Eddie terrorizing his Boy Scout friends on a camping trip, clever nods to the original series and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa chomping into a lion. Special effects to be added will also allow Lily’s outfit to form out of spiders and for Grandpa to manifest out of rats.” He adds, “The family pet, Spot, will be part of the show, as will the creation of the “Dragula.”

Written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, “Mockingbird Lane” is described as a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about “The Munsters”, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein — and their “plain” cousin that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy “Pushing Daisies”.

Portia DeRossi and Jerry O’Connell star as Lily and Herman Munster, Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, Mason Cook as Eddie, and Charity Wakefield as Marilyn.
