Xochitl Gomez Joins Benedict Cumberbatch In Sam Raimi’s DOCTOR STRANGE 2

Xochitl Gomez (Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club) has joined Benedict Cumberbatch in Evil Dead director Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Plot details and Gomez’s character are unknown at this time.

That said, we do know that Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy) will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch from other Marvel movies such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor also return from the original film.

The film’s set to start shooting in May once Cumberbatch finishes playing Strange in Spider-Man 3. Scott Derickson (SinisterDoctor Strange) was set to return as the director but left due to creative differences. He remains as an executive producer.

The original film told the tale of Dr. Stephen Strange’s whose life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave, and quickly learns it’s at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.

Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness was originally set to hit on May 7th, 2021, but will now (hopefully) land in theaters on March 25th, 2022.
