HOCUS POCUS Passes EMPIRE STRIKES BACK As 2020’s Biggest Re-Release

In some crazy news, it looks like Hocus Pocus has just passed a little movie called f*cking The Empire Strikes Back as the year’s biggest theatrical re-release.

The Halloween classic has earned over $3M in ten days, passing the f*cking 40th-anniversary re-release of the best Star Wars movie, which has earned $2.4M so far.

For the record, Forbes also reports that Universal’s re-release of Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure Jurassic Park has also done well, snagging around $1.4M thus far.

Hocus Pocus tells the tale of a group of kids who accidentally frees a coven of evil witches and with the help of a magical cat must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal. It starred Midler, Najimy, and Parker with Thora Birch, Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, Jason Marsden, and Doug Jones.

Midler’s annual Hulaween fundraising gala will reunite her with Parker and Najimy this Halloween. In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover will take place on Friday, October 30. Tickets are on sale now HERE.

Hocus Pocus is now streaming on Disney+.
