Exclusive Video: Dread Writers Talk SCARE ME with Writer/Director & Stars of Hit Horror Flick Now on Shudder

Scare Me (released on Shudder October 1st) is a cerebral, slow-burn horror film that relies heavily on its core characters to tell a compelling story. The film is filled with a series of campfire-style tales, told by its key players during a power outage. The spooky stories lead to a jarring conclusion that is likely to leave viewers wondering about the relationship between the central cast long after the credits roll.

Synopsis:
During a power outage, two strangers tell scary stories. The more Fred and Fanny commit to their tales, the more the stories come to life in their Catskills cabin. The horrors of reality manifest when Fred confronts his ultimate fear.

In celebration of the film’s successful release, Dread writers Jerry Smith and Tyler Doupe’ jumped on a Zoom call with writer/director/star Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within) and costar Chris Redd (Saturday Night Live). The duo dished on the character-driven nature of the flick, the film’s fondness for Edible Arrangements, and how the picture plays on the notion that many creative types secretly fear they may be a fraud. Check out the highlights in the player below!
