Confirmed: Stephen King’s THE OUTSIDER Wasn’t a Limited Series

HBO’s awesome adaptation of Stephen King’s The Outsider with Ben Mendelsohn and Cynthia Erivo covered all of the events of the original novel. But today, actor Yul Vázquez teased we shouldn’t consider it a limited series.

Vázquez tells ComicBook.com: “It’s not a limited series. I can’t say anything about it, but all I can tell you is that it’s not a limited series.”

While that’s not much to go on, we did hear recently that the second season may be based on King’s new novella If It Bleeds which focuses on Holly Gibney trying to find a missing dog when she watches a news report of a school bombing and becomes convinced that the reporter on that story might not be objective at all.

Gibney, the clairvoyant detective of King’s Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, and End of Watch was played by Cynthia Erivo in the first season of The Outsider.

The Outsider begins when a boy’s body is mutilated in the woods, detective Ralph Anderson sets out to investigate – with eyewitnesses and evidence pointing to Terry Maitland, a popular teacher, coach, husband, and father. While the case appears ironclad, mysterious circumstances lead Ralph to private investigator Holly Gibney, whose uncanny abilities may help explain the unexplainable.
