THE BOYS: Jeffrey Dean Morgan May Have to Sit Out Season 3 Due to Pandemic
A few days ago we got word that Jeffrey Dean Morgan may be joining the upcoming the third season of Amazon’s The Boys. But today, showrunner Eric Kripke says that might not happen now due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Kripke tells ComicBookResources: “I will caution everybody that [circumstances] could really screw that up, because he’s a regular … on The Walking Dead, so he can only come up for a couple of days. If there’s still a two-week quarantine between Canada and the United States, that renders that impossible. Of the many things [current circumstance] is screwing up in this world, a Jeffrey Dean Morgan cameo or a Jeffrey Dean Morgan role may be one of them. But if the quarantine is removed and a couple of things break our way? Then yeah, we’ll try to figure it out.”

Based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys was developed by showrunner Eric Kripke (Supernatural), who serves as writer/executive producer.
The even more intense, more insane Season 2 finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, they try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront, a social-media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.
The second season premieres its first three episodes this Friday. New episodes hit each Friday after that, with the epic season finale airing October 9.
