Blumhouse’s upcoming Paranormal Activity flick was all set to hit theaters on March 19, 2021. But today we hear that Paramount has pushed it back and the new film will arrive – almost a full year later – on March 4, 2022.
Jason Blum is producing and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon will return to write a new film. Blum teased Katie Featherston may return as well.
The original centers on a couple who become increasingly disturbed by what appears to be a supernatural presence. Hoping to capture it on film, they set up video cameras in their house but are not prepared for the terror that follows.
It sports an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Using its low-budget effects and mockumentary method to great result, Paranormal Activity turns a simple haunted house story into 90 minutes of relentless suspense.
