Björk Returns to Acting to Play a Witch in Robert Eggers’ Viking Revenge Epic THE NORTHMAN

Björk has joined the cast of writer-director Robert Eggers’ Viking revenge movie The Northman with Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgard, Willem Dafoe, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Ethan Hawke. She will be playing a witch.
This is the musician’s first movie role since 2005’s Drawing Restraint 9 and Lars von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark with Catherine Deneuve.
This casting makes a bit of sense considering Eggers co-wrote the movie with a longtime Björk collaborator, Icelandic poet Sjón.
The Northman does not have an official release date but ilming recently started near the eastern coast of Ireland. Check out pics below.
While plot details about the film are scarce, we do know that it takes place in the 10th century and centers on a Nordic prince who seeks revenge after his father is murdered.
