George A. Romero’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD Invades Drive-In Theaters Soon

Grindhouse Releasing and Janus Films will unleash George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead 4K restoration into drive-ins throughout America.

That said, at the moment, only three locations have been confirmed:

  • Prides Corner Drive-In, Westbrook, Maine on August 22nd
  • Riverside Drive-In in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania on August 28-29th
  • Midway Drive-In in Sterling, Illinois on September 19th

While that’s not a whole lot of info to go on at this time, it’s worth noting that this 4K restoration will also sport a new introduction from The Living Dead author Daniel Kraus. So that’s something.

Will you be checking out George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead 4K restoration at the drive-in? Make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

The film tells the tale of seven people trapped in a rural farmhouse which is under assault by an enlarging group of cannibalistic, undead corpses.

Written, directed, photographed, and edited by George A. Romero, the film is co-written by John Russo and stars Duane Jones and Judith O’Dea.

The film sports a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: George A. Romero’s debut set the template for the zombie film and features tight editing, realistic gore, and a sly political undercurrent.
