Jamie Foxx 100% Still Wants to Play SPAWN in Blumhouse’s Reboot

Blumhouse and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn reboot with Jamie Foxx and Jeremy Renner is still in the works. No worries. And today Foxx confirms he’s still absolutely still up to play Al Simmons.

Foxx tells Yahoo: “I surprised Todd McFarlane. I said, ‘Bro, I know that one day you will do this movie, and I hope you will keep me in mind.’ What Black Panther did was let us know that it’s so necessary, and it’s the time. And Spawn is just an interesting character in itself. The heads that are being put together to bring you something special – look out.”

Sounds good to me!

Spawn tells the tale of a covert government assassin who is killed after being double-crossed by his boss. Upon arriving in Hell, he is offered an opportunity to return to Earth if he’s willing to lead an evil army. He accepts and is reincarnated as a “Hellspawn” — a twisted, horribly disfigured version of his former self. However, Spawn serves as a force of good, much to the dismay of the Devil’s henchman, a wicked clown.

McFarlane is set to make his directorial debut with Spawn which Jason Blum produces. Are you excited? Hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
