Written by David J. Schow and John Shirley based on James O’Barr’s comic book, the film begins when musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) and his fiancée are brutally murdered by members of a violent inner-city gang the night before their wedding. On the anniversary of their death, Eric rises from the grave and assumes the gothic mantle of the Crow, a supernatural avenger. Tracking down the thugs responsible for the crimes and mercilessly murdering them, Eric eventually confronts head gangster Top Dollar (Michael Wincott) to complete his macabre mission.

It sports an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Critics Consensus: Filled with style and dark, lurid energy, The Crow is an action-packed visual feast that also has a soul in the performance of the late Brandon Lee.
