Swallow has been hailed as “the horror film for our helpless moment” (Rolling Stone), with Nathan Halpern’s “retro-thriller score as a highlight of the film” (Indiewire). The musical score is an intrinsic part of the experience, mirroring the psychological state of the story’s protagonist Hunter Conrad and drawing the audience into her world. Atmospheric, disquieting, beautiful, and even at times uplifting, Nathan Halpern has created an indelible soundtrack that won’t be forgotten once heard, and is due to be one of the most talked-about scores of the year.
Swallow follows the life of Hunter Conrad (played by Haley Bennett in an award-winning role), a recently married housewife who has just discovered that she is pregnant. A controlling husband, sinister in-laws and a dark, secretive past all fuel a compulsion that Hunter just cannot stop… Swallow has garnered stunning critical acclaim for its unflinching look at mental illness, winning 23 festival awards along the way.

Synopsis:
A young housewife with a seemingly perfect marriage and life develops a disorder that gives her an irresistible urge to eat inedible objects.
Swallow is written and directed by Carlo Mirabella-Davis and was released in theaters and on Digital and VOD by IFC Films March 6, 2020. The film stars Haley Bennett, Austin Stowell, and Denis O’Hare.
