STARSHIP TROOPERS Reboot In The Works with TOP GUN 2 Director?

Today we’re hearing that Sony is looking to reboot Starship Troopers with Top Gun: Maverick, Tron: Legacy, and Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski.
According to WGTC, Sony sees Starship Troopers as the ideal opportunity to launch a big-budget sci-fi series. Well let you know when we hear more.
In the meantime, remember the original movie was directed by Paul Verhoeven who is best known around these parts for helming classics like RoboCop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Showgirls, and Hollow Man.
It begins in the distant future when the Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Little is known about the Bugs except that they are intent on the eradication of all human life. But there was a time before the war… A Mobile Infantry travels to distant alien planets to take the war to the Bugs.
Rated R or graphic sci-fi violence, gore, language, and nudity, it sports a 64% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: A fun movie…if you can accept the excessive gore and wooden acting.
