Female Lead THE FLY Reboot In The Works with Jeff Goldblum?

David Cronenberg’s The Fly with Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis is one of my favorites. And today we hear Goldblum is being courted to return for a reboot-sequel that, according to WGTC, will feature a female lead.

We’ll let you know if we hear anything further.

That said, are you up for another version of The Fly? Hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

Cronenberg’s original flick told the tale of scientist Seth Brundle (Goldblum) who completes his teleportation device and decides to test it on himself. Unbeknownst to him, a housefly slips in during the process, leading to a merger of man and insect. Initially, Brundle appears to have undergone a successful teleportation, but the fly’s cells begin to take over his body. As he becomes increasingly fly-like, Brundle’s girlfriend (Davis) is horrified as the person she once loved deteriorates into a monster.

The film sports a 92% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: David Cronenberg combines his trademark affinity for gore and horror with strongly developed characters, making The Fly a surprisingly affecting tragedy.

Produced by Brooksfilms based on George Langelaan’s 1957 short story, the film features make-up effects were created by Chris Walas, along with makeup artist Stephan Dupuis. Howard Shore composed the score.
