The Goonies 2 might finally be happening. Adam F. Goldberg (The Goldbergs) shared a piece of concept art by Michael Barnard (Garbage Pail Kids) for his secret screenplay, The Goonies II: Never Say Die.
On top of that, Goldberg reveals he had a big meeting scheduled with original director Richard Donner before lockdown happened and he is going to do everything he can to not ruin anyone’s childhood.
He says: “I’ll be lurking on the message boards, so instead of telling me I suck and I’m ruining your childhood, tell me what you want to see in a sequel! And what the hell do I do with Sloth?”
Goldberg originally pitching his idea for The Goonies II: Never Say Die back in 2005 but Donner didn’t feel he was able to match the original. Goldberg’s been working on the screenplay ever since in secret.
