WARNING: The 2nd Film on THE LAST DRIVE-IN WITH JOE BOB BRIGGS Tomorrow Will Be CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST

One of the titles for tomorrow night’s episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs has just been announced–and it’s one of the most controversial projects ever committed to film: Cannibal Holocaust! Job Bob made the announcement himself on Twitter, revealing there will be a tamer version made available on Saturday.

Cannibal Holocaust‘s infamy is manyfold. Released in 1980, the film’s found-footage delivery had many convinced the events were true; director Ruggero Deodato was actually charged with murder in an Italian court, where he had to present “dead” actors to prove they were still alive. And while the fictionalized gore in Cannibal Holocaust is intense, it’s the inclusion of real-life animal cruelty that has kept the film on many horror fans’ “Never Watch” list. We won’t even mention the dated cultural insensitivities.

If you’ve never seen Cannibal Holocaust and want to prepare yourself for tomorrow’s Last Drive-In broadcast on Shudder, check out the trailer and synopsis below.

Synopsis:
During a rescue mission into the Amazon rainforest, a professor stumbles across lost film shot by a missing documentary crew whose goal was to study the region’s indigenous cannibalistic tribes.
