House from Wes Craven’s THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS Can Be Yours for $2.5M

If your a hardcore horror fan who’s also looking for some prime real estate, the house for Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs has just hit the market for the first time in 30 years! It’s located in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, close to Koreatown, downtown., and the University of Southern California.

The home was designed by architectural firm Sumner Hunt & Eager, and listing agent Melissa Barlow states: “The look is so cool. You shoot at night, throw some cobwebs around, and it looks like a haunted house. It’s beautiful old architecture.”

According to Realtor.com:

“This property can also be seen in lesser roles, in movies such as The Convent, Witchcraft, The Immortalizer, and an episode of Modern Family. The nearby Beckett Residence has also been used as a “standing set,” primarily for horror movies.”

Synopsis:
When young Fool (Brandon Adams) breaks into the home of his family’s greedy and uncaring landlords, he discovers a disturbing scenario where incestuous adult siblings have mutilated a number of boys and kept them imprisoned under stairs in their large, creepy house. As Fool attempts to flee before the psychopaths can catch him, he meets their daughter, Alice (A.J. Langer), who has been spared any extreme discipline by her deranged parents. Can Fool and Alice escape before it’s too late?
